Amy, I am looking for a pattern for a round placemat. I have enjoyed your website so much and Congrat on your baby. Thank You.

I became very frustrated with the Spruce site. I am trying to find the pattern, free or at cost, for the placemats/coasters used on the thread crochet background. I just love the simplicity of the look, love join-as-you-go crochet, and love the pattern as a good way to use up thread scraps. I tried “contacting” but it didn’t work. Instead my e-mail went to my “drafts” folder. Please tell me how to get this pattern, written if possible, as I don’t read charts. However, I will learn if necessary for this pattern. Thank you in advance.

Lynne, I’m truly sorry about the wild goose chase. I’m completely frustrated with them, myself. I am no longer working with that network and cannot say what is going on there — but it seems that perhaps there is some sort of glitch, or perhaps their staff has removed bunches of different patterns designed by myself, Sandi Marshall and Erica Jackofsky for reasons unknown to us. It is a shame that they have not also deleted the links to those pages to avoid the confusion that you just went through. I will try my best to connect you with the pattern you are looking for; I will email you shortly for more details.

Thanks so much for your interest in my patterns.
      Best wishes,
      Amy Solovay

Am working on Afghans with Style Number 10 Gallinmore. No matter how many times I’ve tried to read and work the row 3, my stitches do not come out correctly. Any chance there is an error in instrucions? as

      Hi Shirley,
I am so sorry to hear you’re having a problem. I am not sure if there is a problem with that particular pattern or not — at the moment, my patterns are all boxed up and inaccessible so I am not easily able to look at this at the moment. (trying to fix a problem with our floor). Have you checked the publisher’s site to see if there is errata for that page? If there is a known problem, the publisher will usually post errata somewhere on their website. If you check or, it might also be possible to check with other crocheters who have worked that pattern to get an idea of whether they had any issues. Or it might be possible to find the designer and contact her / him to ask about it. I sure hope you can resolve it, Shirley, and finish your lovely afghan. Best wishes! Amy
