Crochet, Knitting and Other Creative Classes at My New Favorite Website

I have a new favorite website. I love this site for bunches of reasons:

  • They make a huge variety of interesting video-based creative classes available on topics that interest me — crafts, photography, business and much more.
  • They let you view bunches of different video classes for free with no strings attached. If you enjoy the class enough to want to watch it again, you have the opportunity to pay for access to the class — but they don’t pressure you to do so. I think this business model is win-win for everyone.
  • The videos don’t have annoying ads on them the way Youtube videos often do.
  • Their instructors have a talent for making complex topics interesting and easier to understand.
  • This site has many famous class instructors on board. To give some examples, if you need a beginner’s class for knitting or crochet, you could take a class from Vickie Howell through this website. Anne Geddes has photography classes available through this website.
  • The videos I’ve seen so far have all been high-quality and worth watching.
  • I like hearing from the people at this site. They send interesting emails that I often open and read. Their blog is filled with helpful posts, and I’ve learned quite a bit from reading their posts and watching their classes.
  • They offer frequent sales and discounts on their paid classes. Their class prices vary greatly, but tend to be reasonable to start with — so their sale prices typically represent an outstanding value.

    Happy birthday Amy!
I’ve been busy crocheting some slippers for my granddaughters. I appreciate your pattern recommendations and I grabbed the baby hat pattern you linked to from your newsletter. Thank you! Thanks also for the info about the video website. It looks interesting and I found a couple of classes I want to check out.

Hi Amy, Happy birthday. Remember me? We met at CHA back in 2009 and you taught me how to do tapestry crochet. I remember you were also into scrapbooking at the time. Are you still scrapping these days? It’s been a long time since then. I’m excited to see all those scrapbooking video classes — wondering if you’ve taken any of them and which ones you recommend. Take care and thanks for the newsletter,

Hi Jenny, It’s great to hear from you. Of course I remember you! ๐Ÿ™‚ I hope your tapestry crochet vest turned out well.

Funny you should ask about scrapbooking. I hadn’t scrapped in years, but just this year I started again because I’m working on making baby albums for my daughter and my in-laws. I was intensively focused on crochet for so long that all other crafts took a backseat.

I did check out bits and pieces of a few of the scrapbooking classes, and I enjoyed them. The ones I looked at were taught by Candice Stringham.

    Amy, happy birthday!

It was a nice surprise to get a newsletter from you in my inbox today. I’ve been meaning to ask you if you have any wine bottle cozy patterns? How about headband patterns?

Thanks for the tip about the video classes. I’m short on time right now but I bookmarked the site for when I have downtime, hopefully soon.

    Your daughter is adorable.

I forgot to say, I’m not knitting or crocheting anything at all at the moment. I finished all my UFOs and I have a totally clean slate! But I’m about to start on Christmas projects (hence the need for patterns to make headbands and wine bottle cozies) so the clean slate will be short lived.

Hi Deborah! Thanks for the comment and the birthday wishes. Sounds like you have been super busy with your knitting — bravo! You (or perhaps your loved ones?) are going to be well dressed this fall and winter. ๐Ÿ™‚
