If you’re blessed to have a little girl to crochet for — perhaps a daughter, step-daughter, grand-daughter or little sister — it can be fun to work on “girly” crochet projects like the one you see pictured here. This little flower granny square is seriously girly, from the pink color combination to the touchable, textured three-dimensional flower petals.

Of course, there are other color combinations you can use for crocheting this little flower granny square. When you make it using red, green and white yarn, the design is magically transformed into a Christmas pattern. You could use this design for making all kinds of holiday craft projects, from baby clothes to blankets to Christmas ornaments.

    Hi Janet,

Thanks so much for the comment. I really appreciate your interest!

You’re not daft at all. It’s no wonder you’re confused. I just clicked through to the page where the pattern is, and it seems that the editors of the website I used to write for have replaced my project photo in that pattern with a totally unrelated stock photo. How puzzling! Why on earth would they do that? I am so sorry for the confusion!

The photos you see on THIS PAGE are the actual project photos for the pattern posted on the page I linked to with the pattern for the 3-d granny square. Does that help?

I just made a note on my to-do list to create a step-by-step photo tutorial for this project and my other granny squares with flower centers — so if you’re still confused, please follow up and let me know. If you’re interested, I’ll be glad to send you an email when the tutorials are ready.
