Free Crochet Circle Coaster Patterns
If you want to crochet the easiest possible circle coaster, just use worsted weight yarn and a basic circle pattern; crochet as many rounds as it takes to get the right size coaster you want, then repeat to make your entire set of coasters. Most of our crochet circle patterns work well for making coasters. The following links take you to some additional crochet circle coaster patterns that are available at other websites on the internet:
If you want colorful or solid round coasters that have more style than just basic rounds, this is a nice coaster pattern to try. The picture that goes along with this pattern is pretty; it shows 5 different coaster colorways you could make. One of the sample projects pictured is a solid-colored coaster, and the other coasters are all multicolored designs. The free crochet coaster pattern includes a symbol crochet chart but does not appear to have written instructions. Instructions for crocheting these coasters are available in English and bunches of other languages.
Crochet Flower Coasters
Crochet is well suited to making flower-shaped designs, and flower coasters are fun projects to work on.

Crochet Heart Coasters
These heart coasters are similar to the flower coasters pictured above. They’re thick and cushy, and crocheted using strips of fabric. I chose an interesting red batik fabric for my project sample. The design would be lovely if crocheted in other prints or colors as well.
Crochet Snowflake Coaster Patterns
If you want to crochet coasters for setting your table in wintertime, check out the following crochet snowflake coaster patterns. They’re nice for using on your Christmas table settings, at New Year’s and any time up until spring.
Beginner-Friendly Crochet Snowflake Coaster Patterns
The best resource I know of for crocheting snowflakes is a book called Crochet Snowflakes Step-by-Step. It’s such an excellent resource because it has both GORGEOUS snowflake designs plus every type of instructions you could want — photo tutorials, symbol crochet charts, lots of pictures plus written instructions. Some of the patterns in the book are suitable for beginners, and there are many easy patterns in the book. There are also some more challenging patterns too. The patterns are versatile; many of them will work well for making coasters.
Shamrock coasters — These pretty coasters are crocheted using two strands of worsted weight kitchen cotton held together. They’re sturdy, practical, and attractive. The free coaster pattern is posted at the Leisure Arts web site.
